My First Wedding – A Dream Come True

This summer, something I’ve dreamed about since the day I bought my camera actually happened—I photographed my very first wedding.

It all started when the bride saw the whimsical photoshoot I did for my sister’s birthday. She reached out and told me how much she loved my style, and then asked the question that completely surprised me: Would I photograph her entire wedding?

At first, I didn’t know what to say. Shooting weddings has always been my dream, but in my head, I imagined starting out as a second shooter for someone more experienced. I quickly realized that breaking into that world isn’t as easy as I thought—it’s tough to get opportunities to second shoot. So when she asked me to do her wedding, I was torn between nerves and excitement. I was honest with her and admitted I had never done one before, but she trusted me anyway. That trust gave me the courage to say yes.

I was nervous, of course, but also so ready to give it everything I had. The days leading up to the wedding were filled with excitement, nerves, and prayers. On the morning of the wedding, I asked God for peace, guidance, and steady hands. And He truly showed up for me that day. From the moment I started, I felt God’s presence and help. The light was soft and golden, the couple was full of joy, and there were so many little moments—tears, laughter, glances—that felt like pure magic to capture. The couple gave me full freedom to capture their story in my own way, and I poured my whole heart into it.

At the end of the night, I was overwhelmed with gratitude. The bride told me earlier that finding me was an answer to her prayer—and honestly, I felt the same. I’m so thankful to God for this opportunity, for helping me through every moment, and for reminding me that He plants dreams in our hearts for a reason.

Looking back, I’m so grateful I took the leap. It was the most exciting, challenging, and rewarding experience, and I loved how everything turned out. Even better, the couple loved the photos too.

That day will always be special to me—not just because it was my first wedding, but because it reminded me that sometimes you just have to take the risk. My dream came true sooner than I expected, and I couldn’t be more thankful.
