A Whimsical Picnic for My Sister’s 25th
For her 25th birthday, my sister wanted something dreamy—soft, whimsical, and straight out of a fairytale. And somehow, it all came together perfectly. We found the perfect hidden spot in one of Sacramento’s parks, beneath a big tree with long, sweeping branches that hung low to the ground, forming a magical canopy. The sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting soft, golden glow that made the whole space feel ethereal and tucked away from the world.
We set up a sweet little picnic under the tree, complete with vintage china, fresh flower bouquets, candles, and little bites perfect for an afternoon tea. It felt like stepping into a storybook. A small circle of her closest friends gathered to celebrate, making the afternoon even more special.
I debated whether or not to bring my camera—I didn’t want to turn the moment into a shoot—but I’m so glad I did. The light, the colors, the details… everything came together so beautifully, and I was able to quietly capture it all just as it felt: soft, joyful, and full of love.
She told me afterward that it was exactly what she imagined. I'm glad I was able to capture the feel of the event perfectly, photos turned out very cute and whimsical.
